What we collect and why
When you fill in our sign-up form or message us, we receive your name, a way to contact you (email, phone or Telegram) and your child's first name and age. We use this to suggest a group, reply to you and invite you to a trial class (lawful basis: steps you ask us to take before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries).
Once your child attends, we also ask for emergency contacts and any allergies or health information relevant to the class, so we can look after your child safely (lawful basis: contract; explicit consent for health information). Payment details are kept for accounting (contract and legal obligation).
Photos and video
We photograph or film children only with your consent and within the limits you choose: may be published, no face shown, for parents only. You can change or withdraw consent at any time by emailing uk.abracadabra@gmail.com; we will stop using the images. More on theSafeguarding page.
Who else sees the data
Our sign-up form is provided by Tally (tally.so); spreadsheets and email by Google; messages by WhatsApp, Instagram or Telegram if you contact us there. These providers process data on our instructions or under their own terms as platforms. We never sell children's data or share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to enrolment: 6 months.
- Pupil records: while the child attends and 1 year after.
- Financial records: 6 years (HMRC requirement).
- Photos and video: while your consent stands.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent. In particular, you have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Email uk.abracadabra@gmail.com; we reply within one month. If you think we have breached your rights, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office:ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
This site sets no advertising cookies. Visit counts come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works without cookies and does not track people across sites. Fonts and images are served from our own server. The Google map on the home page loads only after you click it; Google may then set its own cookies. The Tally sign-up form is embedded from tally.so and uses no tracking cookies.
